CONFIDENCE – Finally finished 🥳#happyartist

Mixed dry media on Arches hot press cotton fibre paper 560 x760mm and off to the framers. This will hang in our hallway with PARLOUS STATE, same size and media and at end of video.
Parlous State was created in 1992 during a life drawing class, my first year at QCA Griffith Uni. It was a selected exhibit for the Griffith/Artistcare Exhibition that year.

I found it a challenge to create an artwork of similar simplicity but dramatic, that in the end would make a suitable pair to hang together. I chose to work from a small etching that I created from another charcoal sketch completed in that same life drawing class. Thirty-three years apart, two different feelings, and two different interpretations.
