Bluethumb Staff Picks
I always feel quite honoured to have my artwork recognised by The Bluethumb Team, Gallery owners, and peers. To have two Picks in several weeks leaves me somewhat chuffed to the max! 🙂 Both are acrylic on stretched canvas 61cms square, and created from personal traveling experiences and my photo resources.
Solitude – the art of being alone received a Staff Pick a few days ago.
This is another painting from my Kakadu Wetlands Series.
It inspired from my photo of this peaceful Egret during a trip through the amazing Kakadu Wetlands.

The plant life is so different to our local Pandanus and Melaleuca trees here in The Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
The Melaleuca trees with their chunky trunks and spindly branches seem to ignore my tree growth concept, as do the Pandanus with the cluster of growth at the base. I found the wetlands so exciting and alive. I particularly loved the contrast of the Egret resting amongst the busy dappled sunlight.
