2014 – Photographer & Videographer

Sculpture on the Edge Exhibition – Spicers Tamarind Retreat, Maleny. Digital Documentation of different aspects of this national competition which was held from Thursday 25 September to Wednesday 1 October 2014.

I was commissioned by Arts Connect Inc. to document this exhibition, and the project was made possible by a Regional Arts Development Fund Grant from Arts Queensland. The video here is about the Ephemeral Artist’s on site creation and installation of their exhibition in the gardens and rain forest. Maleny artist Corrie Wright lead the group – Judy Barass, Elizabeth Poole, Jenny Fitzgibbon. Two other digital presentations are available on my website: Commissions

– a week of green art –

The original video is recorded in High Definition 1080p but has been degraded in YouTube, and is too large to upload on this site, apologies. Creating the audio for this video was a new and difficult challenge for me. I have always added suitable audio after editing, when the videography and photography is a complete presentation and finalized. For this video the imagery had to fit in with Jenny Fitzgibbon’s songs, I also added some interlude audio.

The second challenge for me was to emphasize the ephemeral aspect of the installation, the short-lived, transient. Double takes and editing of selected scenes provided the perfect scenario for portraying the artists.

Spending a week in the beautiful gardens and rain forest with these ladies was a new and truly memorable experience for me.
