Base on the verse from the Book of Proverbs … ‘a perfect wife – who can find her …’.
To create this book of collages I have used ready-made motifs and icons together with my sketches, paintings, photography, craft, paraffin, self portraits, broken watch, threads, mentholated spirits transfer of retro photocopied antique photos, and celluloid copies of my photography. A collection of motifs, rather like a Bower Bird.
I have used the Pelican as the symbol of sacrifice as referred to in ancient mythology. I also chose to present the book within another book, to take-over a familiar homes crafts book..
