Art for Alzheimer’s Awareness – 2011 – Pine Rivers Regional Gallery

Solo Exhibition – Window Installation

The first of four solo exhibitions in which I have my art to bring awareness to various aspects of
Alzheimer’s disease including the experiences of the carer, the person in care and social influences.

Video played continuously in the Installation window. The knitting represents the the repetitive experiences of the carer. Knitting and wool winding is also a familiar activity for people with dementia – a learned activity, usually stored for a longer period in Procedural Memory.
